Things to Know About this Coverage

Payable for reasonable and necessary medical or rehabilitation benefits as a result of the accident.

All assessments requested by the insured will be deducted from the med/rehab limits

         Assessments capped at $2,000.

This is important as, according to the Insurance Bureau of Canada, for every $1 on claims under $10,000, $0.80 is also spent on assessments and for every $1 on claims over $10,000, $0.60 is also spent on assessments

Questions to Ask Yourself

q     Are you self employed?

q     Do you have any collateral sources through your own business or through your employer to offset any cost of medical, rehabilitation or prescription medication?  If so, how much?

q     Do you have any pre-existing conditions or injuries that may delay your recovery from an injury resulting from a motor vehicle accident?

This coverage is strongly recommended unless the insured is fully covered by an alternative policy of coverage. (i.e. coverage through employment group benefits.)
